Authentication

Authenticate with an API key sent as a bearer token.

Send your API key in the Authorization header on every request:

Authorization: Bearer cs_your_key_here
  • Create, name and revoke keys in Dashboard → API keys. A key is shown once, when you create it.
  • All keys on your account share the same allowances. Keys will also work with the MCP server when it launches.
  • Keep keys on the server. Don't put them in browser code or public repositories.
  • A missing or invalid key returns 401. See Errors.

Keys in the docs playground

When you are signed in, the API reference creates a Docs playground key for you, valid for one day, and fills it into the playground. It replaces any earlier docs key. Playground requests use your allowances like any other request, so try free endpoints (resolve, count, values) first. There's no separate test mode: the Free plan and the free endpoints are the way to try the API. You can revoke the key at any time from the dashboard.
